William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare is widely regarded to be the most influential man of the Elizabethan Era. He is most well known for his comedies and tragedies, but he also wrote many other poems and sonnets. His plays are the most performed of any playwrite and his plays have been translated into every major language in the world. In addition, he helped people better understand the English language, by shaping it to include words that he believed would help people better interpret his plays. Walter Raleigh
Sir Walter Raleigh was an English aristocrat and explorer. He is best known for exploring parts of Virginia. Although he was not able to establish a permanent settlement, he paved the way for many future English settlements. In addition to exploring the new world, Raleigh also made many new advancements in England. He is given the accomplishment of popularizing tobacco in England. He was also elected to the English Parliament in 1593, speaking out for religious and naval matter. (Further reading here)
Francis Drake
Sir Francis Drake was an English Sea captain and politician during the Elizabethan Era. He was the 2nd in command of the fleet that fought against the Spanish Armada in 1588.
